Looking to pay online without sharing your bank details or reaching for a credit card? MiFinity is built for exactly that. It's a digital wallet that lets you make secure online payments, keep your spending under control, and fund your account with prepaid credit instead of a bank transfer. In this guide, we explain what MiFinity is, how the eWallet actually works, and the safest way to top it up.
MiFinity is a regulated e-money provider, and at dundle, an authorised MiFinity distributor selling digital prepaid products since 2012, you can buy the prepaid code that tops up your wallet and have it delivered by email in seconds.
What is MiFinity?
MiFinity is a global digital payments provider whose core product is the MiFinity eWallet. It‘s an online account that stores money, pays merchants, and sends funds internationally without exposing your bank or card details on every purchase. Unlike a single-use prepaid voucher, the eWallet is reusable: you load a balance and spend it across many sites, in several currencies, whenever you like.
What sets it apart is its regulated status. MiFinity is authorised as an electronic money issuer by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority and as a financial institution by the Malta Financial Services Authority. For a payment method, that regulatory oversight is a meaningful trust signal as your funds are held by a supervised institution rather than an anonymous app.
Note: The specific consumer protections that apply depend on your country of residence. See the jurisdiction note near the end of this guide.
How does the MiFinity eWallet work?
In short, you open a free account, add money to it, and then use that balance to pay online or send it to others. There are three stages:
Loading your wallet
Once your account is open, you fund it. MiFinity and its resellers support more than 80 payment methods combined, including cards, bank options, cryptocurrency, and the MiFinity eVoucher. The eVoucher is the route to take if you'd rather not connect a bank account or card at all: it's a prepaid code you buy in advance and redeem into your wallet.
Paying and sending
With a balance loaded, you can pay at online platforms that accept MiFinity (mainly in gaming, entertainment, travel, and e-commerce) and send money to friends and family in dozens of countries worldwide. You can also hold multiple currencies within a single account, which is handy if you shop or travel across regions.
How safe is MiFinity?
MiFinity is designed around privacy and security. Because you pay from your wallet balance, the merchant never sees your bank or card details. MiFinity applies anti-fraud monitoring and states it does not share your financial information with third parties. See MiFinity's official Terms & Conditions for EEA residents for the full policy.
As with any regulated e-money wallet, MiFinity is required to run identity checks under anti-money-laundering rules. In practice, you'll need to verify your identity once you've transacted above €150 (or your local currency equivalent) to unlock higher spending limits. This is a standard KYC step that also protects your account, not a sign that anything is wrong.
MiFinity is authorised by UK and Malta (EU) regulators, but the consumer protections that apply to you depend on your own country of residence. If you're in the EU or UK, MiFinity's e-money license means your funds are safeguarded under those regulators' rules. If you're purchasing from Canada, or Australia, different local consumer-protection and financial-services rules apply instead — check MiFinity's regional terms for the specifics that cover you.
What does MiFinity cost?
Opening a MiFinity eWallet is free. Beyond that, fees depend on how you use it: deposit and withdrawal charges vary by payment method, and specific figures are best checked on MiFinity's official fees and limits page, since they change over time and by region.
A couple of points worth knowing about the eVoucher specifically:
There's generally no fee to redeem it, but if your eWallet or an unredeemed balance sits idle for 24 months, MiFinity classifies the account as dormant and applies a €1/month fee (or currency equivalent) until it's reactivated.
A currency-conversion fee of up to 2.99% (up to 3.99% for certain emerging market currency pairs) applies if you redeem a voucher in a different currency than it was bought in.
The eVoucher code itself is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase — redeem it into your wallet before then.
Always check MiFinity's current terms before you buy, as fees and limits are subject to change.
Where to top up: get a MiFinity eVoucher
If you'd prefer to fund your wallet without linking a bank account or card, the simplest option is a MiFinity eVoucher — a prepaid code you redeem inside the eWallet. As an authorised MiFinity distributor, dundle delivers the code to your inbox instantly. Buy yours at your local dundle store:
