Adding a gift card to your Amazon account is the easiest way to top up your balance and keep it ready for whenever you shop. Once the credit is on your account, Amazon applies it automatically at checkout, so there's no code to dig out each time. There are two simple ways to do it: load the balance in advance, or apply a code to a single order. This guide walks through both in detail, step by step.
At dundle, an authorised prepaid reseller that has been selling digital codes since 2012, you can buy an Amazon gift card and get the code by email within seconds — ready to top up your account straight away. Pick your region:

United States: Amazon gift card for the US
Canada: Amazon gift card for Canada
Australia: Amazon gift card for Australia
Two Ways to Use a Gift Card on Amazon
Before you start, it helps to know the difference between the two methods, because each suits a different situation:
Add it to your account balance (top up): the credit sits on your Amazon account and is used automatically on eligible orders until it runs out. It is best if you want to pre-load funds or set yourself a spending budget.
Apply it at checkout: you enter the code while paying for one specific order. This is best for a one-off purchase, or when you want the credit to go toward a particular item.
Both take under a minute. Here's exactly how each one works.
How to Top Up Your Amazon Account Balance
This method loads the gift card onto your account, so the balance is ready before you even start shopping.
Sign in to Amazon and open Account & Lists, then select Gift Cards.
Choose Redeem a Gift Card, enter your claim code, and select Apply to Your Balance.

Your balance stays on your account until you spend it, so there's no rush to use it all at once.
How to Apply a Gift Card at Checkout
Prefer to put the credit toward one specific order? Apply the code during payment instead.
Add your items to the cart and continue to checkout.
Under Payment method, find the box labelled Add a gift card or promo code, enter your code, and select Apply.
The credit is deducted from your order total. If the gift card is worth more than the order, the remainder is saved to your account balance for next time.
Can You Add More Than One Gift Card? (Stacking Balances)
Yes. Amazon lets you add multiple gift cards to the same account, and their values pool into a single balance. Just repeat the redeem step for each code, and Amazon combines them. This is handy if you've received several smaller cards and want to put them all toward one bigger purchase, so there's no need to spend each one separately. We encourage you to check the Amazon Gift Card Terms and Conditions for more details.
Doing It in the Amazon App vs. on Desktop
The steps are the same on both, but the menus look a little different. In the Amazon app, tap the menu or your account icon, go to Account, and look for Gift Cards or Reload Your Balance. On the desktop, everything lives under Account & Lists in the top-right corner. Whichever you use, the code goes in the same place and the balance updates the same way.
Gift Card Won't Apply? Common Fixes
If your code is rejected, it's almost always one of these:
Wrong Amazon website: Amazon gift cards are region-locked, so a card bought for one country's store won't work on another. Make sure the card matches the Amazon site you're signed in to.
A typo in the code: claim codes are long and easy to mistype. Copy and paste it straight from your email rather than typing it by hand.
Already redeemed: each code can only be used once. If it's already on an account, it can't be applied again.
Extra spaces: a stray space before or after the code can cause an error. Delete any spaces at the start or end.
If it still won't go through, contact Amazon customer service with your order details, or check with the seller you bought the card from.
