Forgotten a birthday or need a last-minute gift that’s always received well? An Amazon gift card is one of the easiest presents to send, and with a digital code you can have it in someone's inbox in seconds. This guide covers the two simplest ways to send one, plus how to send across borders.
At dundle, an authorised prepaid reseller selling digital codes since 2012, you can buy an Amazon gift card without an account, pay with PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or 36+ other methods, and receive the code by email straight away, ready to pass on. Pick the recipient's region:
United Kingdom: Amazon gift card for the UK
United States: Amazon gift card for the US
Canada: Amazon gift card for Canada
Australia: Amazon gift card for Australia
Send an Amazon Gift Card by Email
This is the most direct method. When you buy a digital gift card on dundle, the code is emailed instantly. You have two options: enter the recipient's email address at checkout so the code goes straight to them, or use your own email and forward it once it arrives. Either way, they receive a code they can redeem on their local Amazon store on millions of products, from tech and books to household goods.
Send an Amazon Gift Card by Text or Message
Prefer to send it as a text or over a messaging app? Simply enter your own email address at checkout. Once the code lands in your inbox, copy it into a text message or a secure app like WhatsApp, and add a personal note for a nice touch. This is perfect when you don't have the person's email address, or you just want to keep things quick and casual.
Can You Send an Amazon Gift Card to Another Country?
Yes, but with one important caveat. Amazon gift cards are region-locked, so a card bought for one country's Amazon store can only be redeemed there. A card for Amazon.co.uk works on the UK store; a US card works on Amazon.com. Before you buy, select the country that matches the recipient's local Amazon website, and the code will be ready for them to use the moment it arrives.
Choosing the Right Amount to Send
Amazon gift cards come in a range of set values, so you can tailor the amount to the occasion. A smaller value works nicely as a quick thank-you or a stocking filler, while a larger one gives the recipient real freedom to pick something they've had their eye on. If you're not sure, a mid-range amount is a safe bet, as the credit doesn't have to be spent all at once, so there's no pressure on them to use it immediately. Just remember to match the card to the country of the Amazon store they shop on.
Make It Feel Personal
A gift card doesn't have to feel impersonal. Whether you send it by email or by message, take a moment to add a note explaining why you chose it or what you hope they'll treat themselves to. If you're sending by text, pairing the code with a short message and a photo or a favourite emoji goes a long way. Because you control when you forward the code, you can also time it to arrive on the exact day — first thing on a birthday morning, for example — so it feels deliberate rather than last-minute.
Why Amazon Gift Cards Make a Great Gift
Amazon gift cards suit almost any occasion, like birthdays, holidays, thank-yous, or a team reward. Because the recipient chooses what to spend the credit on, there's no guessing about sizes, colours or tastes. Digital delivery means no shipping delays and no store hours to work around, so even a truly last-minute gift feels thoughtful rather than rushed. If you're sending one abroad, it's an easy way to give someone a treat without worrying about international postage.
After You've Sent It
Once your gift is on its way, the recipient just applies the code to their Amazon account and starts shopping. Want to explore other options?
