The Ultimate Guide to EA Sports FC 24

The football season is underway for the 2023/24 season, the new kits have been unveiled and big transfers have taken place, and while FIFA usually follows the start of the new season, this year we get EA Sports FC 24 in its place. With many fans eager to play as their favourite teams, stocked with new players, some are speculating about the changes that could feature in EA Sports FC. The game, which celebrates the World’s Game, will be available to play from 29 September 2023, not long now! In this article, we will dive deeper into the new features EA Sports FC 24 has to offer and what it means for the game you know and love.

Why is FIFA 24 called EA Sports FC?

For those late to the news, let’s address the FIFA-sized elephant in the room. EA Sports has lost the FIFA license in what ends a 30-year partnership. An end of an era. However, good news for football gaming fans everywhere, EA Sports will still continue to make football games under the EA Sports FC series.

But, are FIFA games gone forever? Well, respected sports magazine ‘The Athletic' reported that FIFA president Gianni Infantino has announced FIFA will be back with a new game developed alongside third-party studios and publishers in the future. While we don’t know exactly when, football fans can soon expect another rival football game on the market. The more the merrier, right?

Will EA Sports FC 24 be the same as FIFA?

No, it will not be exactly the same, but fear not, many, if not most features will feel the same. That’s because EA game developers will be handling all the technical aspects as we are all used to. What you can expect is a true-to-life experience, allowing you to play in the most iconic competitions, with the best clubs and players. This includes 19,000+ players across 700+ teams in over 100 stadiums and over 30 leagues.

That’s not all, you can expect EA Sports FC will use the Hypermotion technology previously featured in FIFA games, but better! Hypermotion V, the latest Hypermotion technology, actually captures motion from real-life football gameplay and recreates it in the game. How, you may ask? Well, they set up cameras in the biggest stadiums around the world to capture the actual movements of players. It brings an added layer of reality to the game never before seen. Wild, right?

If you want to know more about the technical changes, EA Sports FC has a useful gameplay breakdown to explain it all in easy, understandable English for us non game developers.

EA Sports FC Ultimate Team

The biggest news drop of all, and no we are not talking about the title change, is that you can now play as female players in Ultimate Team for the first time ever! This changes the game dramatically as you can partner the likes of Kylian Mbappe with Sam Kerr up front. Ultimate Team is expanding to be more inclusive, and if that isn’t enough, the first female icon(s) will be introduced to the game.

If you want to know more about how these changes will work, EA Sports FC has a complete breakdown of how women will feature in Ultimate Team from squad chemistry to player ratings.

FUT, for the first time, allows you to get players in your club to a higher rank through Evolutions. Choose players that fit the Evolutions criteria and complete a set of objectives to improve their individual skills, PlayStyles, and overall ratings to keep them competitive throughout the year. Take a 68-rating player to an 85, and compete at the top with even lower budgets.
