New Game Releases June 2021

A Trip Down Memory Lane With Recent Game Releases

Before we step into the summer with an amazing tsunami of fresh and new upcoming game releases for the PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch - let’s look back at last month’s games. It’s hard to believe we survived May, with its thrilling game titles. Whether you played as a killer shark in Maneater or had to survive in a vampire-ridden town in Resident Evil Village for the PS4 & 5, it was a wild ride. Not to mention Rust, where you team up and evolve with your buddies to raid other colonies. But we survived and we’ve got more games on the horizon.

Upcoming Game Releases June ‘21

Anticipated upcoming video game releases in June are going to show us the brighter side of games. For starters, we’re looking at a very anticipated AAA video game title from the platforming genre, called Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This promises to be epic, as it’s going to use all the fascinating PS5 capabilities. Next, is another PS exclusive and cult-classic JRPG revamp: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. This Square Enix title is basically their game from last year, but with a whole new storyline and a cute protagonist as a bonus.

This month, Xbox Series gamers are going back to medieval times with Chivalry 2. The first-person swordmaster game where your bravery is put to the test. Is Medieval Europe not your thing? Then get ready for take-off! Microsoft Flight Simulator is the very first adaptation of the successful PC game that will be brought to the new console generations. A guaranteed hit!

For the Switch gamers, there’s some creative fuel, and a Japanese hack n’ slash on the menu. Game Builder Garage for the Nintendo Switch is a new toy for (prospective) video game creators. Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is the updated version of a classic ninja action-adventure.

Buckle up, because this month’s video game releases are gonna keep you on the edge of your gaming chair this June. Scroll down for each game’s release date, specs and more.

Sony PS4 And PS5 New Game Releases In June

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Game release date: June 11, 2021

Our most anticipated platformer game for June is the so-called PlayStation 5 system-seller, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The game uses the new capabilities of PS5’s crazy-fast SSD hard drive system and the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback to its full extent. The main feature of this game is that you can seamlessly jump into another dimension mid-gameplay with the click of a button. All the reviewers agree that the speed of the graphics and the super engaging haptic controls are giving next-generation vibes, which everyone was waiting for from the date that the PS5 was released. While the story of the game is yet to be revealed, we can tell from the early reviews that there’s another protagonist next to Ratchet, who will help to create balance in the universe. Can’t wait!

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Game Release date: June 10, 2021

Final Fantasy VII Remake for Playstation 4 hit hard last year when it debuted. The original Final Fantasy game is a cult classic for many video game gurus and is still considered one of the best RPG games ever made. The remake of the game was in the making for 7 years and an instant success. But what’s great about it is that it's only the first of a 3-part series. While the game stays true to the original tale, gameplay-wise, it’s got a more action-heavy and open-world approach. This makes it especially appealing for the younger generation of players as well.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a DLC bundle, which includes a remake, and one extra quest with Yuffie, an important character from the original game. So, if you missed out on the first version, it’s the best time to lose yourself in this amazing adventure.

Ever wondered how it would feel like to be a knight from medieval times? Chivalry was one of those games that gave gamers the possibility to have a sneak peek of the era's biggest fights. The first Chivalry release for PC and Xbox was a huge hit, thanks to its intense first-person combat set in an epic medieval cinematic battle. The game’s multiplayer feature gives anyone the chance to hone their swording skills against their best bud. Chivalry 2 introduces another set of epic battles where you overthrow knights, kings and kingdoms in castle sieges, and much more! The game will be available on the Xbox Series X as well, which brings glorious 4K 60FPS, smooth gameplay, and advanced graphics to the table.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the PC epics with a history of more than 40 years. No surprise, the gaming world got blown away when they announced last year that the hyper-realistic flight sim is coming to the Xbox Series X/S this summer.

What makes Flight Simulator special is the unbelievable attention to detail. You have to navigate in real-time weather conditions including realistic wind speed, humidity, temperature, rain and lightning. You fly across the globe on an accurate world map.

Combined satellite data and cloud-based AI gives the virtual pilot the chance to fly around planet Earth by reaching 37,000 airports, 2 million cities and 1.5 billion buildings with all the sights you would love to visit in real life. Are you ready to fly around the world from the convenience of your couch? We sure are!

Concluding Thoughts On This Month’s Releases

So what’s your game of choice for this June? Are you going on a holiday around the world in less than 80 days with Microsoft Flight Simulator, or are you taking a short trip to the fantasy land of Midgar in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade? Oh, I know! Why not both? And why stick to this dimension? Easily change dimensions in the vast, fast-action world of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. But then again, you might as well go back in time. Especially if swordplay is your thing, you can be the knight who conquers kingdoms in Chivalry 2. Not to mention taking on the role of a stealthy killer in Ninja Gaiden Master Collection.

It’s up to you! And just in case none of the above suits your needs, you can always create your own game with Nintendo’s Game Builder Garage. After all, one thing is for sure, video games have long surpassed other media with their multimedia storytelling capabilities. These days, games are so much more than just entertainment on the side. The budgets for game series like Final Fantasy, Uncharted, Resident Evil, The Last of Us or Metal Gear Solid are already on par with Hollywood blockbusters - all with their respective intriguing storylines and memorable protagonists. And the best part? In some ways we, the gamers, are the directors of these action-packed interactive adventures. We decide the storyline and overall personality of our character as we dive into these third-person games. How cool is that?
