LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Adventure through space with the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. If you love LEGO and Star Wars, you will like this new iteration, which contains all nine entries of the Skywalker movies. Each of the nine episodes will have five story missions, making a total of 45 levels full of galaxy adventures. And to make the game more dynamic, the game’s hub won’t be in a single area. There is a wide range of iconic Star Wars landmarks and fully explorable planets. Familiar favorites like Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant, Hoth, and Endor are waiting. Travel to them on famous ships, like Star Destroyers and the Death Star. And with up to 300 characters to fight your way through this sci-fi classic franchise, you can play the whole game with your favorites from the series.

One of the core improvements in this collection is the combat. For example, lightsaber wielders now use a variety of combos with light attacks, heavy attacks, and Force moves. Also, blaster characters have an over-the-shoulder camera now. Another plus is that you don’t have to follow the story in a linear order. You get to choose your own order and start the game from any Skywalker saga trilogy. And to keep you on your toes, random encounters have been added in the game’s hub. Out of hyperspace, an Imperial Star Destroyer can appear and send TIE Fighters toward the player. You can choose to have dogfights with them or continue the story. If you are looking forward to even more content for this game, there will be 7 DLC packs released in the future. So no end of fun Star Wars gaming in sight. May the Force be with you!

Back 4 Blood: Tunnels of Terror DLC

Back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, is back… for more blood. The Tunnels of Terror DLC features new co-op content called Ridden Hives. In this DLC, players explore seven different dungeons full of labyrinthine tunnels. These are set below the depths of Evansburgh, infested with a new Ridden type, the Warped Ridden.

You will encounter new enemies, including landmine-setting Urchins, damage-dealing Rippers, and monstrous Shredders. If you overcome these challenges, you will earn exclusive loot and rewards. The new Warped Ridden variants will also be playable in PvP Swarm mode. Also, two new playable cleaners are added: Sharice the axe-wielding firefighter, and no-nonsense restaurateur Heng. There’s also eight new exclusive skins. So if you are up for more Back 4 Blood challenges with your friends, this DLC with all the new content is the perfect expansion to keep you gaming for hours.

New Video Game Releases for Xbox in April 2022

A person with a medieval doctor mask, grabbed by black slimey thread, with a frog behind him with its tongue around its middle.

The Serpent Rogue

Fancy a trip to a medieval fantasy world? You’re in luck because that is where The Serpent Rogue is set. This action-adventure game requires you to master the art of alchemy, explore uncharted territories, tame wild creatures, and protect the realm from imminent disaster. You play as the mysterious The Warden, an alchemist with skills you will use to craft, brew, boil, and invent potions to stand ground and defeat the danger that awaits.

This danger is the Serpent Rogue, casting its evil from Mount Morbus. Its terror is spreading over the realm and you are the chosen one to confront this enemy. Bring back peace and tranquility to this world, with the help of your alchemy skills and set of tools. Discover various locations to get more knowledge and find your way to put an end to this evil reign.

Releasing the game in April proved to be a tough timeframe to keep for Ukrainian developer Sengi Games. The situation in their country is obviously far from ideal, but the company decided to stick to the original plan. And thanks to their commendable efforts, their creation can now be enjoyed despite the trials they faced.

New Video Game Releases for Switch in April 2022

Nintendo Switch Sports

Nintendo is famous for its ‘Sports’ games, so the company has of course announced its latest Nintendo Switch Sports release. You play these games with the same traditional gyroscope functionality you’re used to with the old Wii controllers, but now on the Switch joysticks. Your movement is still tracked and reflected on your screen. Want to take it a step further? You can also go for the Ring Fit leg strap option when it comes to the soccer gameplay, making it all the more physically challenging. This new version consists of three sports from previous games: tennis, bowling, and swordplay (named chambara in the game). And three new sports: soccer, volleyball, and badminton. Golf will be added in a later stadium in a free update.

With the Switch’s Joy-Con you challenge the computer or friends in these multiple sports, in a similar way to Wii Sports back in the day. Move your hands, arms and body to hit the ball, throw strikes at bowling, or smash a great point with volleyball. The last new addition are ‘Sportsmates’ avatars, alongside the existing Mii’s, and these have detailed hair, faces, arms and legs. The game is playable locally, and online. So, are you ready to get fit while playing games again?

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Speaking of Star Wars, Starkiller is back in this brushed-up port of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, releasing on Nintendo Switch. You, as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, can relive the epic adventure against the Jedi, which is set between the movies Revenge of the Sith, and A New Hope. Fight with the devastating Force and lightsaber combos, with the use of the Joy-Con motion controls, in various Star Wars worlds. Think of Cloud City, Kashyyyk, Felucia and Raxus Prime. Play through the story alone or challenge a friend in the 1v1 Duel mode.

Keep in mind that this version of The Force Unleashed is a port of 2008’s Nintendo Wii version. A version that was already the underdog in comparison to the PS3 and Xbox 360 adaptations. With worse graphics, unclear textures, blurry character models, and the lack of the Euphoria physics engine, the game on the Wii looked much older than it was. On Switch, it will look a bit better and run smoother, but don’t expect too much improvement.
